Investing in Foreign Stock Markets

Word up, gents.

I wanted to start a thread on the topic that I hinted at in another thread about investing in the Korean stock market. However, let's keep this thread more generic because other markets might come into play.

Have either of you invested in a foreign stock market directly? If so, can you please describe your experience?

The reason it looks appealing to me is a) you can score on the high loonie value right now and b) other markets are probably rocketing faster than ours...of course.. I wouldn't know a good stock market from an Egyptian hyeroglyphic. That aside, my pride won't let me be humble so I'll cover up somehow.

Why don't we take, say, $100 each and give it a 'trial run' just to see how the process works?

but you guys are all talk so why do I bother?

I want investors with good old fashioned...balls. It felt rude to write that. 'Balls'. How carnal. It felt even ruder, but yet more humourous, to put the adjective 'old fashioned' before the balls, indicating somehow that modern balls aren't made the way they (more spiritually accurately 'He') use to make them.

Accept my apology. May this post never come back to haunt me and my dynamic investing career.

Haven't bought anything foreign, but if your speculating, and don't feel like losing your entire hundred bucks, my modern balls are saying to buy american. The war ends next year when bush has the eject button pushed, and their economy will turn around. Soldiers coming home will be buying property and putting their saved money on mf's or stocks (maybe).
Of course I keep trying to tell you to get real estate leverage working in your favor, but my words fall on deaf ears. I need to loan you this book I just read about the benefits and write offs, and how to pyramid your estate to grow exponentially. Don't pull out your old fashioned balls and start dicking around with volatile markets...even if you know someone who's made cash.

If your doin the research and buying a sound investment, it don't matter which market it's in. The one thing you have right is that the loonie is strong...now.

I haven't experienced much of the foreign market either. However, I have been following some foreign stocks that trade in the US market.

The USA is definitely due for a large shift.

My goodness Mr. Liau. The fact you said that, and I just read a newsletter about it is remarkable. Vulture companies in the US are buying default properties at 50 cents on the dollar. Apartments in Florida are selling at those prices! Imagine owing one of those when the market turns around??!!

And Taylor 2 keeps going on about buying in northern canada. I guess he's just trying to covince himself that's a good market since he bought that shotgun shack up there.

I mean, it is okay up there, but everything appreciated really quick because the mining companies buy property up when they are expanding, but all it will take is Government to pull the plug on funding, and that my friend, is an unstable market.
